Transport and Access to Cherwell

We are right in the centre of England, with some of the best transport accessibility you could ask for.

The M40 is a major arterial 3-lane highway linking the London M25 orbital with the M42 at Birmingham. One of Britain’s most modern motorways, completed in 1994, it offers fast road connections both to the two largest UK cities, and to the main motorway hubs in the UK. From Cherwell, the M1, M5, M6, M4 and M3 are all within 1 hour.

Cherwell is well-served by main rail links.  It lies on the main Birmingham New Street – London Marylebone line with trains stopping at Banbury and Bicester North Stations.  Banbury and Bicester are both provided with frequent and fast rail access north and south to all major destinations.

Rail transport has received a boost recently with a positive feasibility assessment of a proposed east-west rail link running from Oxford through Bicester and on to Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge.

Road and rail provide quick and efficient access to international flights from London Heathrow, and Birmingham International airports. Charter and private flights are serviced by the excellent Oxford Airport at Kidlington, which can provide international facilities and has one of the most comprehensive range of services to private aviation available anywhere.
